Mental Warrior Workshops

 

Introduction to Self-Care
(Trisha Kulathungam - 5 Hours)

This class will teach students about common and effective holistic stress management techniques including meditation, yoga, breathing techniques and mindfulness practices. First, the workshop explains these techniques and provides students with the scientific support of their effectiveness. Second, students will get to practice and develop the techniques. This is followed by a one-day retreat where students will experience these techniques in depth.

 

Emotional Intelligence
(Dr. Raymond Lavoie - 5 Hours)

Emotion can be the source of mental illness, or it can be your most powerful resource. In this class you will learn what emotions are and why we have them. Then, through applied workshops you will learn how to master emotions and take control of your mind.

 

The Science of Happiness
(Dr. Raymond Lavoie - 5 Hours)

How are some people always so happy? This course will help you be one of those people using Positive Psychology - the science of happiness. This course will not only help you be a beacon of positive energy, but it will help you live a more fulfilling life.

 

Navigating Social Media Mindfully
(Trisha Kulathungam - 5 Hours)

This class will teach students how to manage their social media activity, including what content they interact with and the image they portray to others. We will discuss the potential positive and negative effects of social media use. At the conclusion of this course students will be able to identify the effects that social media has on their own mental health and will be able to leverage the benefits of the various platforms.

 

Mindfulness & Social Justice
(Trisha Kulathungam - 3 Hours)

This course will teach students about the relationship between living mindfully and social justice issues. As a part of this course we will identify current social justice issues that are affecting communities across the world. This course will also teach students how to be more compassionate toward social justice issues. Students will also learn the fundamentals of planning and hosting a fundraiser in support of social justice issues.

 

Mental Warrior Retreat
(7 Hours)

The Mental Warrior Retreat is the final step of our Mental Warrior Training Series. The retreat gives our trainees the opportunity to experience effective self-care techniques first hand and in depth. It is meant to be a relaxing and educational experience, where our students gain insight into which self-care techniques resonate best with them.
